Dr. Pankaj Mehta specialises in treating blood vessels in the body and has done extensive work in restoring blood supply to the foot especially in diabetic patients. Many of these patients come with large non-healing ulcers and these procedures save an amputation. He also has enormous experience in treating bleeding, especially in the lungs and intestines, treating liver cancer, portal hypertension and brain stroke. He has a total experience of over 25 years and is one of the senior most IRs in India.

Dr. Mehta completed his education at JIPMER, which is an institute of National importance. He competed his post graduation with a gold medal in the same institute. He was faculty in Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, which is a centre of excellence for Neuro and Vascular Interventional Radiology. Subsequently he was a faculty in Kasturba Medical College and Hospital where he established Interventional Radiology services.
Dr Mehta was a faculty in Princess Margaret hospital, Nassau, Bahamas. He joined KMCH, Coimbatore in 2004 as Faculty in Interventional Radiology. He is a founder member of Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and was an executive committee member. He has several publications in various national and international journals and is a peer reviewer for several journals.
